Chris Parke Second Post

After finishing Pop, I found the ending very sad, but good. I would have never predicted Charlie to fall off the stands. This was the last idea that came to me because he was such an important character in the novel, I found it a little confusing why they would make him die in the end. Overall, the ending to the book was very interesting.

  1. I agree with Chris about the ending of the book. I thought that Marcus would win the game and be the hero and that they would repeat the perfect season. But, I never would have expected that Charlie would tragically die and stop the game from ending and put the perfect season on pause. Also, there was no foreshadowing that would have caused me to believe that Charlie would die unlike the insight that was given about Charlie's condition, which allowed Marcus to understand Charlie even more than his own family did.

  2. agree with Chris about the ending of the novel and how it came as an interesting surprise. I agree the ending was sad and unpredictable due to the lack of for shadowing the death of Charlie. I also agree with Jackson in the sense that i believed Marcus would have lead the team to an undefeated season and been the hero, but Charles death did confuse me a little as well. I think the death added an element of surprise to the book which made the ending better in my opinion.

  3. I agree with Chris the ending was not a necessary part of the book if you ask me.But, it did add a little suspiscion to the book and it kept an interesting ending to the book which was important because the whole book was so interesting. The ending was a surprise yes, but i wonder if it was necessary and what was the point of making charlie fall off the bleachers and die?
